


Receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award following your service.


Able and willing to complete 300 hours of service during the academic year to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.Able and willing to serve approximately 12 hours per week in local early childhood centers and available for both the fall and spring semesters.Available two days per week during one of the offered session times.Current SCSU students (part or full time).In order to serve as a Corps Member with Jumpstart, applicants must be: Jumpstart is a Federal Work Study opportunity, but students are not required to have work study to be Corps Members. Corps Members who complete 300 hours of service throughout the year are eligible to earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $1,300 to use towards tuition and/or federal loans. Corps Members work in teams with other SCSU students to engage with preschool children through many activities such as reading, singing, and playing games. Jumpstart Corps Members are trained by the Site Manager to volunteer in local preschools in the surrounding community. Your child must have completed enrollment for kindergarten before you can register for Jump Start.Jumpstart’s site at Southern Connecticut State University is housed in the College of Education in the Department of Curriculum and Learning. Registration begins Please contact the school office to register. Time to make new friends before the start of the year Even if your child has attended a preschool program, this will be a great introduction to Kindergarten in Battle Ground Public Schools. Opportunities to learn basic daily school routinesĪn ability to become familiar with the school layout Jump Start will provide your childĪ variety of early learning literacy-based activities Tukes Valley Primary Jump Start Kindergarten 2021 Join us for a 4-day, tuition-free summer session for incoming kindergarteners Tukes Valley Primary Kindergarten Jump Start 4-Day Program: Begins: Monday, August 16 Ends: Thursday, August 19 Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (Transportation will not be provided) This program will give your child a “Jump Start” to the school year by introducing developmental activities to support his or her transition to kindergarten.
